TVNZ is currently running a poll on their website, asking

" Do you think the anti-smacking law should stay?"

Currently 17% of voters think that the law should stay - and 79% think that the law should not stay. This has been my experience when out on the street collecting signatures for the petition asking "should a smack be a criminal offence". 90% or more of those I speak to are opposed to the law, and more than happy to sign the petition.

It amazes me that more people are not infuriated with the arrogance of leaders to pass laws in total disregard to the peoples majority. good to see the kiwi party organizing petitions to that effect.

You all make me sick. I can't believe you people. Smacking kids is not OK and they deserve the same rights and protection we enjoy as adults.

Stop whacking your kids!

Irrespective of what you think about smacking Faye. The law has done nothing to stop child abuse which was what we were told it would do.
